Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine is a finalist for Team USA. The Olympic Games in Tokyo are set to take place this summer.
While the competition to represent Team USA is exceptionally high and there are more worthy players, LaVine has made a statement in the NBA this season.
LaVine would be a great addition to the national team. He's coming off his first NBA All-Star Game appearance and has been an impact player for the Bulls.
He's been hitting career highs, averaging 28.5 points per game, 5.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists. His points-per-game average is fourth among guards, just behind Bradley Beal, Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry.
Top 10 NBA players by points per game during 2020-21 season through All-Star break:

He's improved his playmaking skills. He had 13 assists just within his last two games.
He's the No. 1 reason the Bulls are relevant this year, bringing hope and excitement back to fans. He has helped the Bulls make the leap from being one of the NBA's least efficient shooting teams last year to being the sixth-best this season.
Last season, the Bulls shot 44.7% from the field. This season, the team is shooting 48.6%.
LaVine's numbers have improved in each season of his career, which isn't an easy task for someone who's had six different coaches in seven seasons. He suffered an ACL injury back in his Minnesota Timberwolves days, yet he came back stronger.
On top of his great development as a scorer, he's spiked his efficiency as a shooter. He's shooting 52.5% from the field, 43.9% from behind the arc and 86.3% from the line.
The fans have taken this Team USA matter to Twitter:
LaVine is the only player representing the Chicago Bulls among the 57 finalists.
